We prove the strong unique continuation property for the Lamé system of elastostatics in the plane, ∇· ( μ ( ∇u+∇ut )) +∇ (λ∇ · u) = 0, with variable Lamé coefficients μ, λ, when μ is Lipschitz and λ is measurable.
